Substance Use Disorder Services
At Greater Nashua Mental Health, we are dedicated to empowering individuals to reach their full potential. The Substance Use Disorders Services department offers an array of outpatient services tailored for adults and their families and is a preferred provider for many major insurance companies serving New Hampshire, including Medicaid. Participants may continue to work or remain in school, while receiving high quality treatment.
Our agency’s substance misuse treatment program is the first on the East Coast to be honored with the Certificate of Excellence by the renowned Matrix Institute on Addictions. We utilize the Matrix® Model, delivering evidence-based, outcomes-driven substance misuse treatment of exceptional quality. The treatment curriculum emphasizes Early Recovery and Relapse Prevention Skills, and is enhanced by providing psychoeducation about the medical aspects of addiction and mindfulness practices. Family group is included, to which clients are encouraged to bring a supportive family member or friend. As a continuing means of support, this group remains open to family members even after their loved one completes treatment.
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 am- Noon. The IOP consists of a total of 16 sessions over the course of 4 weeks. It continues with our Relapse Prevention Group Therapy program, which is a total of 24 sessions over 12 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm.
